The Montessori Difference

Montessori emphasizes learning through all five senses. Children in Montessori classes learn at their own pace and according to their developmental trajectory. Teachers carefully select lessons to present to each child based on his or her developmental stage. Each lesson nurtures a specific set of skills and is designed to be practiced independently or in small groups. Montessori schools place children in mixed-age classrooms, forming communities in which the older children share their knowledge with the younger children. They feel an immense sense of pride being able to teach a lesson to a younger child and be a role model for appropriate behavior and social skills.

Individualized Approach

The curriculum in a Montessori classroom is extensive and can take a child as far as they wish to go.

Teachers are trained to deliver lessons at the optimal moment of readiness for each child. Rather than delivering curriculum according to a predetermined timetable, at Mother Goose we follow the child’s interest and passion so that lessons meet students where they are and take them to the next level.

Each child learns at his/her own pace. Through individualized learning within uninterrupted blocks of work, the children follow their passions and natural curiosity. With the support of the meticulously prepared classroom and nurturing guidance, balanced within a structure of freedom and responsibilities, the child develops concentration, inner discipline, internalization of the learning and metacognition (thinking about thinking).

Prepared Environment

The Montessori approach has been tested and proven by educators and researchers. Each classroom is a thoughtfully prepared learning environment curated to spark the interest of your child. This modern education is academically rich and informs the whole child, addressing and strengthening essential social skills, focus, concentration, and organization abilities within a strong academic curriculum.
